Servant Builders @ Family Camps
SERVANT BUILDERS is an opportunity for Horn Creek campers aimed at giving a limited number of families the chance to learn and grow in the area of Christian servanthood by participating directly in the hospitality and service aspects of our ministry while they are here for their week of camp.
We have room in each of our regular Horn Creek Family Camp weeks for one Servant Builder family. Servant Builders participate fully in the family camp experience with the added dimension of participating directly with our staff in service throughout the week. It's a great way for families to model servant leadership to each other and grow in this vital Christian virtue!
Horn Creek exists to point people to Christ. Our family camps are carefully crafted to this end, with rich worship, challenging teaching, lots of free time, and virtually limitless options to play, all in the majesty of our Rocky Mountain setting. In addition to our teaching, worship leadership, and other obvious ministry functions, we also do laundry, wash dishes, make beds, vacuum floors and more for the sake of the Gospel. All of these things come together to create the special atmosphere that is the Horn Creek Experience. It’s all ministry, and we invite you to join us!

One of the unique things about our camps is the incredible atmosphere of community. First time campers often come as ‘strangers,’ not knowing many, if any, of the other people in their camp. But this doesn’t last long as the Horn Creek community, staff and campers alike, especially delight in serving and connecting with those who will quickly become new friends. And one of the beautiful mysteries of servanthood is that when we follow Jesus’ example in serving others, we also serve Him.

Servant Builder families participate fully in the Horn Creek Camp experience with these additional elements:
Each Servant Builder family will receive, in advance of coming to camp, a Servant Builder guide, providing some great material to help your family understand the Horn Creek Family Camp vision and why we do what we do. The Servant Builder guide provides Biblical principles for servanthood and some questions for family discussion, all to help you prepare to get the most out of your Servant Builder experience.
Servant Builders will meet with our ministry team at the beginning of their camp week to meet the crew, get some quick on-site training, and pray together for a great week of ministry!
Servant Builders are invited to join in all of our team meetings throughout the week related to prayer, devotionals, or camper care. You’re part of the team!
Servant Builders will meet with our ministry team at the beginning of their camp week to meet the crew, get some quick on-site training, and pray together for a great week of ministry!
At certain, specific times, Servant Builder families will join our ministry team in service by: helping with morning prep for breakfast (2 times), helping reset the dinning hall after the evening meal (3 times), helping with mid-week laundry (1 time), and joining us on the Saturday at the end of the week to help reset the camp for the next group of campers. Please note that the majority of your service time revolves around breakfast and dinner (30 minutes each time), so you will not miss out on any of the normal family camp activities, including all the free time! On Wednesday you'll spend a little more time helping us with laundry through the morning. And, then you'll have an excuse to hang out with us in the mountains a little longer on Saturday as you help us clean the camp!
Servant Builders are invited to join in all of our team meetings throughout the week related to prayer, devotionals, or camper care. You’re part of the team!

Special Registration Rates for Servant Builder Families
Servant Builder families experience the full-blown Horn Creek Family Camp in every way. But, you will also be spending time during the week in service! Therefore, we are happy to offer these very special rates for Servant Builder families. They are as follows:
