Maroon Peak – July 11-17

Speaker: Willie Bolden

A graduate of Biola University and Talbot Seminary, and Southwestern Theological Seminary with a Doctor of Ministry degree in Mission and Evangelism, Willie Bolden is an adjunct professor at Dallas Christian College and Dallas Seminary. After planting two churches in California, Willie came to DeSoto, Texas, to found These Are They Community Church, where he is now senior pastor. Willie and his wife, Loretta, have seven children ranging in age from 12 to 35. He is also the founder of W. J. Bolden Ministries.

Willie says...

Since receiving the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal savior, I have had a burning desire to see people experience the same personal relationship with Christ that I have. I also want to see them growing in their relationship with the Lord.

For over 30 years, God has used me to bring people into His Kingdom through various methods. From door-to-door witnessing, street preaching, church planting, college professor, to serving as a senior pastor. The Lord has been faithful to use me as I have yielded myself to His control. Of all that I have done over the years, nothing excites me more than seeing the Word of God being taught correctly.

My mentor use to say “set yourself on fire and people will come from miles around to watch you burn.” That burning and infectious enthusiasm is a way to characterize my life in Christ. Ministry to me is not done as an obligation but as an opportunity to give back to the Lord just a portion of what he gave to me when He suffered as a substitute for my sins. Seeing students grasp the truth of God’s word and then applying its principles gives me joy which words can not truly express. Jesus will return one day and I want to hear Him say to me “well done thy good and faithful servant.
