Family Camps
Horn Creek Family Camps have been a rich tradition for 50 years.
If you've been around that long you've probably noticed that some things have changed over the years! When Horn Creek started doing family camp no one knew what the internet was or had an email address or even a computer. Predictably, styles have changed, the music has changed, and some would say the pressures on individuals and families are greater than ever.
It would be difficult to ignore the fact that the cultural context we find ourselves in these days is pretty different than when Horn Creek was getting started. And yet, the core issues seem to transcend generational and cultural shift. We still can't seem to find enough time. We still fight to find margin in our lives, and often the first things to go when our time gets crunched is our time and relationship with the Lord and the ones we love. It seems like there are more distractions then ever and any number of "alternative" solutions to finding hope and fulfillment in our lives and direction as families. That's always been the case, of course.
Maybe that's why a wise man once said, "There's nothing new under the sun."
What does it mean to truly follow Christ in a world that is often so bent on material gain and self satisfaction? Even in the Christian community we are often offered a version of "success" for our families that seems to have more to do with safety and the American Dream than radical Christ-following.
Horn Creek is sill a place that is committed to bringing hope to families, men and women, boys and girls, in the name of Christ. It is still a place of rest. And it is also a place of challenge. We have a unique environment at Horn Creek that gives us an opportunity, by God's grace, to serve you and gently point you to Him.
We want you to find refreshment and renewal at Horn Creek, and we want you to be spurred on in the calling of Christ for your life and the life of your family.
And we want you to have lots of fun here!
For so many families the most spiritual thing they can do at Horn Creek is just to relax and play. Really.
That's why we do what we do.
Horn Creek Family Camps are about getting some good teaching and encouragement, good meals with no tables to clean or dishes to wash and lots of time to do a surprising amount of activities here on the mountain and in the surrounding area. Or do nothing! But, mostly it's about connecting, with your family, with the Lord and with the rich community that resides in all of our camps.
And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen. -I Peter 5.10-11

Summer Camps
All our summer camps are 7 day camps, with plenty of time for hiking, horseback riding, or rafting the Arkansas River.
Thanksgiving Camp
A great 3 day camp. We fellowship and eat turkey together and give thanks. And yes, we even watch a little football.
Winter Camps
Bring a warm coat and your snowboard. No river rafting at these camps! We'll make plenty of coffee.
