Horn Creek's Internship Program
Horn Creek offers an 11-month internship program to college-age students (ages 19-25). The internship runs from August 11 through August 15 with November 25 through December 26 off. Horn Creek desires to be a place of growth and training to the next generation of Christian leaders, and will begin to invest in young people in a very intentional, servanthood environment. The plan includes these three elements:
- To help young adults foster their personal spiritual growth through service, discipleship, and training.
- To give young adults a hands-on opportunity to serve within the camp setting.
- To help young adults discover their gifts and passions and help them discover their ministry and vocational calling.
Interns will rotate through different positions on camp staff, learn from a variety of mentors, take seminary classes from Sangre de Cristo Seminary, and go on outings in Colorado and beyond. Room, board, medical insurance, paid time-off, and a modest monthly stipend are included in the program.
We are looking for men and women who come to us with a history of Christian service, with a desire to grow in their faith, and with leadership potential. There is a lengthy screening & application process to ensure the most solid crew of interns each year.

*The leadership team will meet on a regular basis to continually develop the intern program. The team will also meet on an as-needed basis to work through staffing, scheduling, programming and disciplinary actions.
Jeff Fox grew up in Pleasanton, California. He grew up attending Westminster Woods Summer Camp, and later worked on staff during his college summers. Jeff also worked at Kanakuk Kamps in Branson, MO after gradutation from Westmont College in 94, and then spent 7 years with K-Life Ministries in St. Louis. Jeff was area director, and regional director for K-Life, leading clubs and bible studies, training interns and volunteers, and helping oversee other K-Life areas in Missouri and Iowa. Jeff then recieved a Masters of Divinity from Covenant Seminary while working for Greentree Community Church in Kirkwood, MO as the young adult director of Damascus Road. Jeff has now been at Horn Creek for 2 1/2 years working as a Manager and coordinator over the intern program. Jeff met his wife Leslie their freshman year at Westmont College. They have been married for almost 12 years and have two girls. Emily (10) and Sydney (6).
While growing up in Colorado, Leslie Fox spent summers at Kanakuk Kamps in Branson MO where she developed a heart for camp and expereinced their impaciting value. She attended Westmont College and graduated from Cal State Northridge in 1995. Marrying Jeff that summer was the best thing she ever did...its been an adventure for the past 12 years. Besides helping with the youth ministry, K-Life of St. Louis for 7 years, she took on the full time job of being mom to Emily (8) and Sydney (6). Living at camp and experiencing ministry together as a family in the mountains of Colorado is an absolute dream come true for her. Leslie enjoys having people in her home, encouraging her husband and susbsitute teaching at the local school.
Matthew Bachali In 1988, I became a Christian while a freshman at Northwest Missouri State University. With this life transformation, I became involved with Campus Crusade for Christ where I later met my wife, Jill, on a summer mission trip. After our wedding, we pursued vocational ministry options and started seminary at Phoenix Seminary in Arizona. I have a BA in Mathematics & Education from the University of Northern Colorado and a MDiv from Phoenix Seminary. Jill and I have been married for 15 years and have four children: Eli(11), Emma(10), Henry(8) & Noah(6). While on staff at Open Door Fellowship Church in Phoenix, Arizona, I worked as a youth intern for two years, youth pastor for five years, and adult pastor for two years. In 1998, I was asked to direct Mountain Meadow Ranch Bible Camp outside Payson, Arizona. Through that experience, I was being prepared for my current role at Horn Creek Conference Grounds. Today, I am the Director of Operations at Horn Creek. My role allows me to manage the field staff and many of the summer staff as well as develop the programs for youth camps and family camps. I am also involved in developing an Urban Youth Camp on the Ranch property of Horn Creek. My wife and I are active in church through supporting the AWANA program, children’s church, and occasional teaching/preaching opportunities. I have a passion to see young people grow in their understanding of what it means to live a “set apart†life in Christ.
Sangre de Cristo Seminary
Sangre de Cristo School for Biblical Studies was incorporated in 1976 as a non-profit institution. The school was first conceived and operated as a summer school from 1976 through 1978. In 1979 a full seminary program was begun with a somewhat unique schedule compared to traditional seminaries. The Seminary is a member of the Association of Reformed Theological Seminaries (ARTS). Full Accreditation was granted in November 2003. The seminary is small and intimate with only 7-14 students. www.sangredecristoseminary.org
