Biography

Jason became a Christian during his senior year in high school. It was through the relational ministry of Young Life that Jason saw the love of Christ displayed through others. It wasn’t the above average Sunday School attendance that Jason had attained while growing up that drew him to the Lord. Rather, it was a dependence upon the work of Jesus Christ on Jason’s behalf that blew him away. The love of Christ was overwhelming, glorious, and freeing.

Jason went off to college and by God’s grace grew in his knowledge of God and his love for God as he studied the Scriptures. It was through the Scriptures that Jason became more and more aware of the mercy and grace of God.

Following Jason’s sophomore year at college, he went on a mission trip to California where God first laid on his heart a desire for full-time Christian ministry. Prior to that summer, it was Jason’s goal to become a successful engineer, but God had other plans.

Jason returned to school, changed his major twice and finally graduated. He likes to say he crammed four years into five. He went on to work in churches in Brookhaven, MS and Memphis, TN as a youth director. It was in Memphis that Jason met his future bride, Meg. Shortly after marrying, they decided seminary was the next logical step in Jason’s preparation for the ministry. But newlyweds can’t just enter seminary, can they? So Jason and Meg moved to Phoenix, AZ for a year.

They returned to the South the following year where Jason began his studies at Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS. While in seminary, he was on staff at Pear Orchard Presbyterian Church where his gifts for pastoral ministry were tested and confirmed. Upon graduating from seminary, Jason stayed on staff at Pear Orchard Presbyterian as the Assistant Pastor working mainly with Young Families. He works with two other pastors with whom Jason counts it the highest privilege to minister alongside.

Jason loves to teach and preach the Word of God. His hobbies include spending time with his family, woodworking, golf, and basketball.

Jason and Meg have three handsome little men: Jake (5), Will (3), and Hudson (1).
